A jute bite tug with two handles, for reward work rather than for leaving on the floor.

Jute is the traditional bite material because it has some give and a coarse weave a dog can get a full mouth on, which is what you want when you're paying a dog for work. Two handles — one long, one short — let you present it at different heights and keep a hand clear of the dog's mouth, and both carry reflective stitching so you can find it in long grass at dusk.

Say the important part plainly: this is training equipment, not a toy. It comes out, it gets used, it goes away. A tug left on the floor gets chewed to pieces and stops being worth anything to the dog. Jute also sheds fibers as it wears — that's normal for the material, and a tug that's coming apart should be retired rather than repaired.
