I'm from Philly, I live in Florida now, and I've been a dog person my whole life — the guy who stops to say hi to every dog on the street. Working with dogs in some way has always been the goal.
At home that means two German Shepherds, Ghost and Shadow. Ghost is three, short-coated, and has had more vet visits than either of us would like. Shadow is younger, long-coated, and still growing.
Buying gear for them taught me the problem this store exists to fix. Gear made for active dogs is expensive, and too much of it still frays, cracks or breaks. Some of it never fit properly in the first place.
So everything I carry has to meet three standards. It has to stand up to a dog that actually works and plays hard. It has to fit the dog comfortably, not just technically go around them. And it has to be priced for a normal dog owner, not a sponsored athlete.
Fit is the part people get wrong most often, so I built a size calculator. Shadow's coat is the reason it warns you about long-coated breeds.
Why "Red Wolf"
The name comes from my love of dogs and where every one of them came from: the wolf. The red wolf in particular is the only wolf found nowhere in the world but the United States, and it is the rarest wolf on earth — only a couple of dozen live in the wild. See where they still live. Rare is the standard I hold this store to: gear that is tough, fits right and is fairly priced is harder to find than it should be.
